The company proudly presents the results of scientific research published by the Central Institute for Fire Protection (CNBOP-PIB) in the renowned journal “Materials” [1].
The article, titled “The Potential of Waste-Derived Sorbents for Absorbing Petroleum Substances in Firefighting Operations,” details the properties and effectiveness of our Re-Absorbent Oil sorbent, made from recycled refrigeration equipment casings.
These studies confirm our company’s innovative approach to sustainable development and effective waste management, while offering advanced solutions for neutralizing petroleum-derived contaminants.

Below is a summary of the section concerning our sorbent.
Product Characteristics: Re-Absorbent Oil
Re-Absorbent Oil is a hard, degassed polyurethane (PU) foam, obtained through the recycling of refrigeration equipment casings. This material, after appropriate processing, is characterized by a unique structure with irregular, polyhedral pores, which is crucial for its high sorption capacity [1].
CNBOP-PIB Research Results
The research conducted by CNBOP-PIB demonstrated the exceptional effectiveness of Re-Absorbent Oil sorbent in absorbing petroleum substances. Key conclusions from the analysis include:
- High Oil Absorption Capacity: The PU sorbent showed very high absorption capacity, especially compared to natural sorbents such as coffee grounds or coconut fibers. The highest efficiency was achieved within the first 10 minutes of contact with the contaminant, which is crucial in emergency situations. Higher absorption for machine oil than for diesel oil was also observed [1].
- Chemical Passivity: Tests confirmed the full chemical passivity of the sorbent, meaning no undesirable reactions (e.g., exothermic, color changes) in contact with the absorbed substances. This is extremely important for the safety of both the environment and personnel involved in rescue operations [1].
- Application in Rescue Operations: The article clearly indicates that Re-Absorbent Oil meets the stringent functional requirements for sorbents used by fire protection units. It is an ideal solution for the rapid and effective removal of petroleum spills from hardened surfaces [1].
Ecological Aspect and Sustainable Development
The use of recycled refrigeration equipment casings for the production of Re-Absorbent Oil aligns with the principles of the circular economy. As a result, the product not only effectively neutralizes contaminants but also contributes to reducing waste and minimizing negative environmental impact. This is an example of how innovative technologies can support ecological solutions in industry [1].
Summary
CNBOP-PIB’s research unequivocally confirms that Re-Absorbent Oil is a highly effective, safe, and ecological sorbent, perfectly suited for environmental protection and rescue applications. We are proud that our recycled product represents an important step towards a more sustainable future and offers reliable support in the fight against petroleum-derived contamination.
